Hi
I am in a few weeks collecting my first beagle boy puppy for 15 years and am mega excited, waited a long time in my life for him to come along as I did want to be able to be in a position in my life stages to have everything prepared. Now my daughter is old enough at 10 to be involved with him as we hopefully hope to show him. We have everything ready for him, like preparing for a new baby.
I have spent hours reading all the posts and there is lots of good advice and have picked up lots of tips especially on cats and puppies. I cant believe that he will be here soon.
Picking him out was so special and I fell in love with him straight away so my my husband and daughter. Our breeder has been so helpful and is a good friend and gives lots of helpful tips as things have changed a lot in the dog world over the years.
I am not looking forward to the journey home with him but I am sure it will be fine. I have had beagles before we had 5 over a period of 15 years and I love the breed and all there quirks. The saddest moment of my life was at 10 losing my precious girl beagle at a year old to Parvo, broke my heart.
I would to speak to any other beagle owners and be able to share and chat , any advice for me as a "Beginner" again would be welcome.
Thanks
Beaglebokerz

Hi, know how you feel I am picking up my puppy in 14 days, have not seen him yet but can't wait. He is not a Beagle but it is a hound. If you are anything like me you have been found quilty of not being able to pass a stand of dog toys without stopping to take a look. All the best to you and hope you enjoy the new pup.
Good luck and happy days with your pup, Caleb is a great name.

Glad you are getting your special boy Jackie :-D I'm still being kept in suspense by the prospective Mum of mine

Thank you Anne, lets hope I like him when I see him in the flesh (fur) think I will because I know and like his lines, and although I want a dog to show, lets face it 99.9% of the time he will be one of the family and loved for himself.

Hi Beaglebonkerz,
I've just got my second beagle bitch and i am enjoying her so much. The house is mayhem with two young beagles but they are so full of character and they certainly keep me busy. I've found the book 'Beagles Today' really helpful. I refer to it all the time for different things, its good beacause its more up to date than alot of beagle books.
The journey home with our second beagle was 5 hours but it was fine as she sat on my knee in a towel and slept the whole time.
Enjoy your beagle, i'm sure you will.
