can anyone help i have tried breeding my girl 3 times now and she has not caught ihave taken her for premate tests and have been told she is ready on day 10 i have taken her to the dog but she shows no sign of mating {no flagging etc] so i have tried her day 13 when she was showing signs she wanted to mate but when the dog mounted she screamed so loud you thought she was been murdered we had a tie of 15 min she has been for a scan and is not pregnant i mentioned to the vet about her screaming because i thought it must be painful for her the vet had a good look round with the scanner and gave her an internal and said there was nothing wrong and some dogs do scream when mating even though the dog is experienced now i just dont know what day to try her the next time can anyone give me some advice she is a lovely dog with a good hipscore and i have people interested in her pups if she ever as some any advice at all would be really helpful

Hi there,your vet is right some bitches do scream yap go absolutely mental.Wouldnt it be easier to leave her with the stud dogs owner and give it a try everyday.As for the scan they are not truly accurate ive been before for one for one of my bitches.Vet said definately nothing in there only to be produced with 3 lovely pups.A scan is ok as long as the vet who is doing it knows what he is looking for.I know that sounds stupid but some vets are totally rubbish.But unfortunately some bitches are like some women unable to conceive.But i hope you sort it out.

Don't give up hope! I had a bitch who was mated 3 times before eventually getting into whelp - she had 6 pups finally. The only successful litter was conceived after she was left with the stud dog & not collected until a few days after the last mating. Let them get on with it - time wise I mean.
