could not get over a man admitting to me that his dog was in fact a pitbull cross staffi how can you be sure I looked at some pics of both and he looks more pitbull than anything lovly calm dog but is he safe to have out

If you are in the UK he is either talking claptrap or he is happy to deal with things that are illegal, either way I would not cultivate the friendship.

There's an idiot who brings a beautiful dog to school to collect his kids. He claims she's a pitbull too but I think he might not know what he's got! IMO she's a Irish Staffordhire Bull Terrier but of course he wouldn't want to hear that.

The worst of it is she's obviously not trained properly as she snaps and growls at anyone who comes within a few feet of her (So WHY bring her to a school???) and is made to look 'scary' with a studded leather harness.

There's another lives near me claiming to be a pitbull - looks like a staff X British Bulldog - and she is the friendliest dafty out, much to her owners embarassment!
