How often should I walk my 14 week old westie? I current walk him every evening for about 15minutes and during the day he has the run of the gardden. My friend says this isnt enough and I should be waliking him in the morning too?

Molly is older than Becks and she gets about 20 mins a day which takes us over two fields where we play chase so she gets a run aswell. She then has the run of the garden and lots of playing and training which I think is enough.

Some people may disagree but I was told all the ovious about not over-exercising and that at their age the training and playing is enough.

You actually do not need to walk a puppy that young at all for exercise. Walks at that age are primarily to get them used to the world beyond house and garden. Even after, if you have a large garden and play with your pooch outside (throwing a ball) a walk is not essential for physical well being - but they are great for mental stimulation and socialisation for dog and dog walker. If you dog turns out as an adult to be a real lazybones (not likely for a Westie) then walks would be necessary for proper muscle tone and general exercise.
