Update on Catsenders:

No one in the trap this morning, so feeling very very mean, set off for Braintree, having fed all our cats inside.

After quite a successful day, came home, took the dogs outl, let the cats out - am keeping Miss Jellicle in a crate for the time being - she had a little fuss last night - used the litter tray - good girl!

Put on only half the lights in the kitchen - opened the door wide, and put a large tray of ams & chicken down - far enough INSIDE the door, but near enough for anyone hungry enough to be tempted... Al stood outside on the patio ... and we waited....

Sucess 1!
Caught Mum!!! Timid, but able to examine her carefully enough to know that this is Mum - nipples stained, etc - but not (hopefully) pregnant at the mo. We put her in crate no 2 - bad move - this crate has bigger spaces she almost climbed through - so we put her in the utility room loo (no escape routes from there!

Then - Sucess 2 - caught very nervous Jellicle 2 - too frightened to be handled, so don't know whether its girl or boy - in the loo with Mum.

The other 2 came in - grabbed a mouthful of food then ran off - bute hopefully tomorrow they will be soo hungry.......

This looks a better method than using the CPL crate......

Well Done - it's quite exciting :) I'm not a cat person, but am glad that someone cares for all the strays. We are lucky here - I don't think that there are any - at least, the only cats that I see are the neighbours'.

Keep up the good work :)

Well - I think we have to take some responsibility for them Daisy - seeing as I'm sure that Buster is Dad!

Nick has just come home - seen the warnings on the loo door - and wants to know if we have confiscated their flcik knives & spray paint cans  !

Hi - now that "normal" service has been resumed - here's the latest:

First of all, Miss Licquorice (licky) is settling down quite well, and is showing all the signs of becoming another member of the "tribe" - although I'm still keeping her in one of the dog crates when she isn't being fussed and petted. AND ...one of her sisters is in with her - another little Buster Miss, whom we caught in the kitchen!!! Although she seemed to be very very timid before, she is settling nicely, and you can fuss her without having to hang on to her like grim death! She is going to the vet on Thursday - hopefully with Mum and brother/sister who are now holed up BEHIND the panelling in the Utility Room loo - Douggie (the vet) got fed up of holding operation spaces for cats who are not keen to come, so now, hopefully, we'll have a block booking on Thursday.

This leaves only one outside - another smooth black/white one - who will come INTO the kitchen for food - but by now realises that he has to keep one eye on movement OUTSIDE the door - s/he's nearly been cut in 2 about 3 times already.

Tonight - it's chicken for dinner - so maybe, s/he will stay........

As for the CPL cage - all other other cats seem to think that it is a feline form of Alton Towers/Thorpe Park - so far, we've caught Tabsy Fudge,(persian) Lilly (exotic) and Mini-mee persian! Gladys, Taggy & Fliss (daughter's half persians who are here on a rather "extended" holiday) sit on top and smirk!!!

I do think that Mum might have springbok blood...... they all can jump above shoulder height from a standing jump!

As for Buster .....he's just taken to lying on the kitchen table, knocking everything off it!!

The Aussies have great fun "rounding up" everyone :D - and of course, if any of the cats do make a break for it - the labs "retrieve" them :D :D :D I am of course, talking about the "normal" residents of Catsenders!!!

Well - today's the day for Miss Midnight (the black fluffy) to go & see Uncle Vet - Mum and sibling are still holed up in the loo, uttering threats and name-calling like you've never heard  !!

They CAN get out - the food bowls are emptied daily, and they ARE using a litter tray! It's going to be real fun at the weekend, trying to get the panelling demolished and at the same time catch the cats - the room is only about 3ft x 6ft!!!

As for poor old Lonesome - still just out of reach on the patio!! But we will catch/him/her - so I think we'll make another apptment for the Vet for next Thursday - when Miss Licquorice gets stitches out!

Nearly had a panic - Gypsy (Al's lab) decided to free the Utility Room 2  ! Fortunately, Miss Licquie jumped up on to the work surface (eek - those stitches) and Miss Midnight went under the cupboards - so we managed to haul her out from there - and has gone off to see Uncle Vet with a slight dusting of cobwebs from under the cupboards :(!

Lonesome almost came in for breakfast..........

More info tonight!

Well - I regret to have to report that the Utility Room Two (also known as the Toilet Two - Louie & Hughey)- are STILL holed up!!! They come up, eat their breakfast, use the litter tray... probably sit on the window sill all day - tear off the wallpaper that I so lovingly put up in July - then - when anyone opens the door - scoot back behind the panelling again :(!!!

I have tried "enticing" them out with raw minced turkey/hot cooked chicken .... they come out & eat it - with the door open & me talking to them, just out of reach - but the minute I edge near enough to touch one - its back behind the panelling again!!

They are still very nervous - you can tell from the purring (or it might be the Harley Davisons they keep behind there) - so I'm afraid that the panelling will have to come down - I was hoping to "tame" them enough not to have to resort to the hammer & crow bars....

Poor old Lonesome though - has integrated with the others in the Summerhouse - eats, sleeps & plays with them - but won't come in - but even so he (and I'm sure from the head that it is He) will still have to go & pay a visit to Uncle Douglas the vet.....

Ms Licquy & Ms Midnight - the already neutered pair - are quite happy to have a bit of fuss now & again.

As for Buster - he's just fine (as are the other Catsenders!!!)
