Put a child gate on the kitchen door to keep her out

Hi,
when we got our rescue working cocker he was a food pincher, we collected about 5/6 empty coke cans and tied them all together with string, then tied the string to some bait, whatever you have left over. When they take the bait the cans crash down and give them a fright, a couple of these scares put our chap off and I hope they work for you too.

have you tried using a water gun or bottle.? we used to have a dog with this problem and every time he went near the food we squirted him and gave a command like leave in a stern voice it took me a lot of perseverance but worked in the end. also when he did eat the food say no and put him in another room for a few minutes to remove him from you. then he gets no reward for eating it by your attention to him. when mine is good around food i get him to lie down whilst i am eating and then when finished give him a little something as a reward for the appropriate behavior. but he doesnt always get some thing now as he has adapted to this. hope this might help tracey
