Thought i'd treat Buddy to a new bed. (Money must have been burning a hole in my pocket) Bought a lovely comfy settee shaped bed with animal print fleecy cover. £20 from Argos. Looked the business it did. Spent most of the morning trying to coax him into it with treats etc with minimal success. Not to worry i thought it's early days and he'll get used to it. Not long ago i was having a long conversation on the phone in the bedroom and left him chasing a plastic top around the living room. Came back and he'd demolished his new bed. He's torn great big lumps out of the foam. I was so mad with him but then had to leave the room to stop myself laughing (i did'nt want him to think it was ok), the little devil only grabbed the new doggy sofabed and tried to run off with it which was such a sight as he tried to navigate past other furniture in the room. Nice things are totally wasted on him he can stick to his blanket on the floor from now on.

Sorry but I fell about laughing at this! Been there etc. Try cutting up an old duvet and machine stiching the open end before enclosing in an old pillow slip as a cost effective solution. :D

got to laugh at this too, he prolly had great fun doing it and look on the bright sid at least it wasn't your sofa he done it too. Parhaps you could keep if he has not done to much damage to it and put and old blanket of his on it, he may call it his own then.

The only thing one of my girls does nto distroy is a bit of vet bed, I just fold a big bit in half and she doesn't distroy it. Anything with a filling.. waste of time..

My pup Cam did exactly the same thing! I got wise and gave him his own sofa. :D

LOL :D My 3 boston's did that to Tiva's (boston) bed, boy I was mad. Not as upset as she was, she seemed like she sulked for days :(. Now she has one of the cushions off of our chair with a comforter and a blanket and she loves it, thank goodness the others leave it alone.

Thought i'd give you an update on Buddys new bed.
He will not use it to sleep in. God knows i've tried. He has stopped tearing it to pieces which is good.
I took the new bed into the bedroom to see if he'd lay on it to be close to me. Nope, but what he does do is drag it to the foot of my bed and uses it to jump up onto my bed then snuggles down as happy as Larry.
Some of you will be horrified that i'm letting him get away with this. God bless him he's got brains after all.
Anybody else let their pooches sleep on their bed or i'm i a total idiot.

Seemed a good idea at the time but now Gus weighs half a ton and insists on robbing the duvet meaning I usually wake up freezing and I'm too soft to wake him up and move him ;)

But he's sooooo sweet and cute and cuddly :) and he used the bed to get close to you in an original way. Im afraid we keep Manic Morse downstairs at night as hes just too big and noisy ( snores, growls and whines in his dreams) to allow in bedrooms.

Been there too with dog bed destruction. My Cairn will sleep on a small duvet folded in quarters. If I only fold it in half it is not soft enough for her. :-) But ... the duvet is in my lounge. Nighttime she usually sleeps in my bed. Years ago I bought a superking to accomodate two adults and a dog.

If you like sharing a bed with Buddy than there is nothing wrong with it.

Stacey <-- has two footstools, one on either side of the bed, so Abby can jump up and down with ease. :-)

13 years ago we got our first Munster. She was not to be allowed on the bed. Yeh right The fact was that the two spaniels came up so she had to as well, didn't she?
I now share my bed with two of the little(?) darlings. The other one sleeps on the settee in the bedroom beside the bed. She has never slept on the bed for some reason. I have to watch, though, as Chance (15 months) will destroy any cushions or duvets left lying without a cover on it.

my labs sleep on the bed (f they can find room and they usually can!!)

delilah sleeps on my bed, and so does teabag the cat, :D

Ahh feel much better now knowing i'm not the only softie out there.
I have to admit i quite like the feel of him as he snuggles down near my feet. Have to watch i don't accidently kick him off the end of the bed during the night though.

...My pooch wont go in any kind of bed, but she jumps on my bed and sucks my blanket :P yuk its all wet by the time i get to bed:( lucky i have a spare clean one;)

I have a throw over my bed for the 2 dogs (both toys) to keep the fur at bay. Neither of them sleep under the covers. When I get into bed I just pick up whoever's in my way and move them so that both dogs are vertical on my right and I have the left side of the bed. :)
