buy her a fleecey blanket to put in the chair
I'm going to get Juno one of those knotted ropes.
She loves her current one, but it is in tatters. (Bought in April. ) She holds it between her paws and uses her teeth to pull on it. The one before that came undone sometime in the early hours of the morning and she destroyed it, but we'd had it 6 months.

Did my monthly pet wholesalers trip this week, and stocked up on the Dogs christmas prezzis. If you dont buy early there then they sell out before you have had time to think about it. Got a lot of lovely cuddly, squeeky toys, including very cute velvety parcels done up with chewy plastic bows with a squeak in. Dexters favourtie toy for the last few years has been a fluffy boot (he now has 3, 1 for each of the last Christmas's), this year they had some with a rubber ice skate on the bottom! Also got some cute christmas wreath thingys with rope chew ends, and a pack of 6 bouncy, squeaky balls with santas, snowmen and robins on them.
Puglet always gets something a little bit extra (last year a bottle of "Oh My Dog" perfume and a new hat and coat set) this year I am making her a fur coat (fake Mink) and a chaise longue for the living room.
bye
Gwen

I'm a meany. :( My lot don't get anything, apart from the plate scrapings from the dinner. But they get that if there's ever any leftovers, so nothing new there.

Ditto, i freeze any excess appropriate left overs to add to their meals.

Ditto JG ...*I* don't buy Hudson anything ...however ..last year he got presents from my oldest daughter and also my sister  :D :D

I think most people get their pets something for christmas.but I also like to give a little to a pet rescue centre, for those dogs less fortunate than ours!

I usually get our cats a tin of turkey cat food and Oscar gets a bone - wrapped up from Father Christmas. My children think it's great. Last year was our first Christmas with Oscar - he was very small - and he gave the retriever next door a bone all done up in ribbon! :-)
all 40 of the dogs at work get a xmas goody bag, and mine get a goody bag as do the cats, they get spolit all year round, but they love to rumage thru the disgarde xmas paper just in case we missed anything edible, you never know one year we might, they also get a big bone from the butchers to eat as we unwrap, but then they get bones from the butcher all year round so its no different really

My 5 get a Christmas stocking each full of treats and toys - usually bought from an Animal Charity catalogue if I can. Christmas is an almighty scrabble round their opened stockings on the floor. I usually take lots away for next day or they'll be sick.
There are also the Christmas presents for the dogs staying at my house. Usually their owners leave them a present - if not, I make sure they share in my dogs' stockings.
I get all my clients (I am a dogwalker) a present, usually some Smackoes or Rawhide chews and wrap it up for them. This year, there are some Bonio presents from Sainsbury that I will be giving them.
Usually, my dogs get Christmas presents from my friends and some of my clients give my dogs presents too.
And I try to give loads of people on my present list, presents from animal charities too.

Mine so far have just got a talking collar each, brought it for fun but it is very useful, has a small waterproof little box on it in which you can record information about the dog, medical phone numbers etc, and you can change this when ever you wish, as we frequently stay with relatives on the mainland and they with us we will just change the phone number address of where we are staying just in case the worst happens and we lose them. My niece last year made them a red satin christms sack with their names on and that gets filled with 24 wrapped goodies as their advent sack (spoiled mutts lol). But they will get toys and a few goodies as well i expect.
Thanks Ginastar, i agree Kong Balls are good but he has one, plays with it loads, spoilt boy :-D but i think i will try the advent sack Ebony,

Hi
I'm glad to know that i'm not the only person who buys my dogs toys and presents for Christmas. Last year my boxer boys got a new bed each, i wrapped them up and they ripped the paper off with their teeth, it was really funny to watch!!!!
They even get Birthday cards and presents off their grandma and grandad!!
On Christmas day i do them both a separate christmas meal because they love vegatables and turkey and my vet says it is very good for them!!
I probably sound mad but me and my husband love our boys like children as do the rest of the family!!!

Mine's getting a new bed (alteria motive cos i want my settee back!)
Sarah

Well actually, if anyone has a border terrier and wants to know what keeps them amused for ever (keep the hoover at hand), a polystyrene ball is just the thing. Mine is just going bonkers as we speak - seems like good value for 65p but it makes a hell of a mess of the carpet!!

After reading everyones replies there are some great ideas on here for pressies. One thing on Dexters Xmas list will be a biscuit jar - seen them in BHS - black & white doggie biscuit jar, with black and white bones on - think they have cat ones too. It'll look nice on the kitchen worktops and it'll be easy to check how many biscuits are left!..... oh and plenty of squeeky toys on his list too.
Toby has his own biscuit barrel, everytime i take the lid off, he comes running, he knows its his biscuit barrel.

Ahh bless him. Do you reckon when our dogs meet each other in the park they swop little stories and email address's and have web sites called champmums where they swop all their ideas on getting your human trained.
But of course they do, bless them :-D :-D
