Is it absolutely necessary to buy worming tablets from the vet or can I just buy from the pet store/supermarket?

Definitely from the vet. They may be more expensive than the pet store ones, but that is because they contain the stronger prescription chemicals, and work so much better! Anything else is a waste of your money.

You can buy the same preparation worming tablets which you will find at the vets online cheaper.

I used to buy Drontal (for our dogs as well as our cats) online from www.vet-medic.com - but there is a delivery charge, and I don't think it worked out any cheaper than getting them from our vet.

I get Drontal from Vetmedic, and they're post-free. Mind you, I do buy 12 at a time.

Think of it as, getting antibiotics from the doctors, or the equivalent from the supermarket. Afraid there is no comparison is there!!!!!!!

Hi Becksmum
I have recently asked my vet that very same question!!! His reply was there are some very good worming tablets on the market, however to ensure your dog has the correct quantity for his/her size/weight the best advice is to go to your vets, I trust my vet. :)
