My mini schnauzer is 10 months old and she is still very much a puppy in her behavior, but a while ago she stopped chewing unless it is her own toys, chew stick etc. However in the last couple of weeks, she has destroyed her cuddly toys, chewed hols in her bedding and while I was out yesterday she chewed a hole in the utility room wall!! Any clues, somebody said that they can start to get extra teeth at this age - is this true?
Thanks for your help
Karen.

It is not extra teeth but the teeth "bedding in" to the jaw; also the lower jaw stops growing later than the upper one usually hence why some people have a nervous breakdown and think their puppies are overshot at 8 weeks.

Perfectly normal, just as you are lulled into a false sense of security they get destructive. My friends dobes have all done their major kitchen remodelling at this age. :D

I have to admit that my Mini, Stan, never chewed anything he shouldn't have. He's been an absolute angel. I'm not saying he's never done any damage, he did dig up and destroy our kitchen carpet when he was confined to our large kitchen as a pup, but he's never done any chewing damage. He did chew his rawhide (never let him swallow it) so he did like a good chew, but he never directed it to the furniture or walls. Could yours be bored? The teeth theory sounds plausible as well.
Stan has my whippet for company and follows him everywhere. When we're at work during the day they sleep on our bed (they have the run of the house) and they've never done a shred of damage (long may this last, touch wood). Do you leave your for long periods on her own? I leave my two on their own as we work (get a walk at lunchtimes) but I'm certain having a doggy companion has reduced a lot of boredom/stress that he could have suffered.
This isn't a criticism...just trying to persuade you to buy another mini :-)
