Just out of curiosity, whats wrong with E & L? I've just taken out a policy with them and they seem fine. Is there something i should know???

Yes , type E & L into the search facility here

hi Lioyds cheaper than e+l plus i heard when you make a claim they give you too much hassle.when making a claim dont need hassle at that time too many other worries on yr mind.eg when is yr pet going to get well.i just want to know for piece of mind.

I have my DDB's insured with Lloyds TSB insurance for just £9.86 each per month. I had to claim for both of them within a few weeks of the policy and they were excellent and paid up with no hassle. Fully recommend them :-)

I'll have a look. Just had a quote from pet plan £60 a month! Good lord! Lloyds look promising lol.

You get what you pay for with insurance. The amount you pay each month is usually in direct proportion to the benefits that are paid out ..therefore , cheaper is not always better

Its discusting how pet plan rip you off! Fair doo's they pay up, but their cover isn't much better than many of the other companys out there. Robbing Bleeders!

You are entitled to your opinion , but I will disagree with you ..I am with Petplan and am more than happy with them

Hello. I also insured my 2 Bullmastiffs with Lloyds for under £20.00 a month. It is a new policy(june) because my other insurers went bust- well, they only charged £7.00 and were great. I had to claim last month for Athos but I don't know if they paid the vets yet, I hope they will as the bill is almost £2.000,00 now.

My sister had her Boxer insured with Petplan, then for some reason or another (possibly cost) she changed to another company ( I don't know who),but when the dog developed a health problem to do with his heart the 2nd company said it was health related to treatment he had previously had under the Petplan insurance, therefore they wouldn't agree to cover costs.
Over the course of about 18months,before her dog sadly had to be put to sleep, she spent out absolutely thousands on pills and treatment for her Boxer,so just be aware, changes are not always the way to go...save a few pounds now but maybe pay more in the long run?
I agree though with a new puppy coming into our home in a couple of months now (hurray!) we are also looking into the minefield of insurances!

we found that a good comprmise for our second dog was pet plan petshare scheme, it has a 4,000 limited BUT IT RETURNS TO ZERO AT RENEWAL ok it does have a hefty excess £70 and a 25% excess but it only cost 12 pmonth, so it will cover any of the really big bills that could affect sams quality of life.

hi
i personally think pet plan are good even though you have to pay a bit more than other insurance groups, when my dog got ill the vet bill came to more than £2000 pet plan paid up no questions asked within 3weeks of claim!
