If you feed live yoghurt this is probiotics! You can get dog probiotics at pet shops; or use acidophilus/bifidus tablets from any chemist etc.
Yoghurt is cheaper!

thanks Tohme, the tablets may be better for my dog as he gets an upset stomach with to much yogurt the antibiotic he is on is noroclav 250mg tablets for seven days as he had a wound that needed stitches and vet thought better safe than sorry. I dont like the idea of him taking them really but hopefuly vet knows best. Can you or anyone tell me if much benefit is gained through taking probiotics during a dose of antibiotics? dont the antibiotics kill the live culture in them? and do antibiotics also stop the uptake of vits and minerals? is there also anything else i can give during this time to help. sorry about all the questions..many thanks willow

You can give probiotics along with antibiotics as long as you don't give them at the same time, ie if you give antibiotics am give probiotics pm. Apparently the best are acidophilus and bifidus as they work on different parts of the gut.

Don't fprget, the problem with antibiotics is that they kill the good & necessary) bugs in the gut, so the probiotics helps to put them back!
