Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / dropping to one meal a day already?
- By TracyL [gb] Date 12.10.03 18:25 UTC
Hi everyone
Sparky is only 5 months, but is making it clear that he is not a breakfast person, fiddles with his lunch, eating about a mouthful, then tries to make up for it at tea time. He does have a stuffed kong on the mornings I work, but we try not to overdo the training treats and adjust his meals accordingly. Could it be that he is becoming a one meal a day dog already? (It's not that he doesn't like his food, either - he wolfs down that evening meal!)
Thanks
Tracy

I would try giving him his breakfast, cut out the lunch and give him his dinner as near as possible to 12 hours after his breakfast. Do bear in mind, though, that this should fit in with when he is excersised, as he shouldnt be fed immediately before or after a walk.

Fillis beat me to it. I was going to suggest exactly the same thing. Cut out lunch altogether and just give him breakfast and tea.

Thanks, will see how we go with this.
