Hi,
some of you many remember me trying to get info of soft coated wheaten terriers. Well; last night- WE GOT THE PHONE CALL!! I am extatic, i cant believe it. we have only ben on the list for about 2 1/2 months for a bitch heavy coated un docked. the list is usually 3-8 months long!!

I know we will have to fisit her first to see if we are interested; but it is a huge surprise, and we are all really happy.
They have 2 dogs 2 bitches.

Was wondering- do they phone loads of people up- ant the first to ring back gets the dog- or do they phone (in this case) four families up?

They are 2 1/2 weeks old. Do they noromally have to be this old before they rind people up, and why?

Any uqestions i should ask the breeder? thankyou.

Hi Saffy
If the breeder got your application from the breed club, the procedure should be that he/she will approve of what you put on your form and then 'phone to see if you are still interested, and if so have a chat. If the breeder still thinks you will make a good owner you will be asked to come and see mum and the puppies. This still does not mean that you will get a puppy, as the breeder will still want to "check you out" face to face. Normally puppies will be 3 weeks old or above before "open to visitors". It is not a race - first come first served should not come into it. The breeder should be looking for the best homes, and if the first families contacted are not fully approved, Judy will be asked for details of more people on the waiting list.

Hi Fillis.
A little confused. We have just rang the breeder. She said that someone has already reserved a bitch puppy earlier thismorning. She has now reserved the last bitch for us. We are visiting when the pups are 4 weeks old. Confused abou twhat you said about her still ringing up different people before she makes a choice. That is not what she told us. Surely- if we were not right- she would ring someone else up AFTER she kbows- or mroe people will be disapointed. ??

Saffy
I can only say what I think is the correct way. If the breeder says she has reserved a puppy for you, then that puppy is not offered to anyone until you have been to see it and you are happy with the breeder and the breeder is happy with you. Do you want to mail me privately with the breeders name and I will tell you if I know her? frankwebster@btconnect.com
