Well the long dark nights are now upon us, and Summer is a thing of the past, so how do I keep my 10 month old Goldie happy!.

He has a good 45/50 mins run in the fields near by us every morning, with recall training in, and is with me during the day, when not a hot day and I have to go out he comes with me for the ride, in the car to the shops etc, and at night hubby takes him around the block for a 30 mins walk.

Once he comes back from that, he has a rest for about 30 mins then is full of beans again.HELP..................have cube balls, etc, any more ideas please........... oh wise ones out there!!

One of my dogs' favourite games is hide and seek :) Start simply - use a favourite toy and hide it in the same room - put it somewhere easy , on the floor just out of sight. Make the dog sit and wait before telling him to 'find it'. Then make it more difficult - try putting it higher up. Then progress to different rooms and then make him sit/wait in one room, while you hide it in another. Always make your dog sit and wait tho' (good practice for sit-stays). If your dog is at the right stage, practice presents with him when he brings the toy back.

I'm sure that others will have different games :)

Have you taught him to give a paw, rollover, find the treat under a cup, or play messengers with another person? All these are in Gwen Baileys Everyday Good Manners for Dogs and are great fun. Enjoy.:)
