Toby is 7months old now (lab),
I take him for walks 2/3 times a day for 10/15 mins each walk,
cant wait to take him for longer walks, but im worried i will overdo it because his hips,
can anyone tell me at what age im safe to take him on longer walks?

Hi there,

I think it was John on this forum that gave the advice of 5 minutes per month.
That would mean your dog could go on 35 minute walks now. I'm sure someone will be along to add advice though.
Murph is almost 10 months and he goes on 2 walks of 45 - 50 mins now with maybe a short walk to pick the boys up from the schol bus - 10mins.

thankyou Ruth,
that means i can walk him to the woods instead of taking him in the car, much more fun :-D

Just to add as well the type of walks are also a factor !!

Lead walking verus running round like a lunatic Lab ! See the difference ?
