Came home today to find a few beans on the hall floor, then a few more in the living room and....the rest of the bag on the bedroom floor - minus the bag

Any ideas how to pick them up?

I've tried using my hand, they just stick. :D

I've tried using a brush, they ping off to god knows where. :D

I'm frightened to use the hoover in case they clog it.

use the hoover, you'll be there forever other wise!!

Oh no great fun if you have a dyson though, you can watch all those beans jump about inside :D :D

i used a bagless hoover but it kept clogging,i found the best way was to dampen a brush so it didnt build up static and sweep them up

You could try using strips of sellotape to pick them up......... could be time consuming tho :)

I had the same thing happen about 3 years ago - and I STILL pick up the odd bead or three when I sweep through the utility room!

Its so funny to see the beads almost go the opposite way to the vacuum cleaner - but I do agree - the Dyson picks up the wee beasties best!

Hudson decided he wanted to find out what was inside the knee trays that we own ...yup ...polystyrene beads ..they were everywhere! We used a vacuum cleaner and got them all up ...but we still find the darned things now , over a year later ;)

Worse than pine needles from the Christmas tree!

There is a problem of dogs breathing the beads into their lungs, so I would say do not leave your dog alone with a bean bag.

i remember one day when working at the kennels when the 'pack' of springers got hold of a bean bag that was drying out. we walked out of the office after tea break to discover a very happy pack of springer playiny in the 'snow' :D it took 3 hours to sweep and hose the run down and a year later we were still clearing beans out of the drains, i left last year so wouldnt know if they are still finding them, it was hilarous to see the younger members of the pack chases the rogue beans that were blowing in the wind

Jackie, I don't usually leave the dogs near a bean bag. I only have one and they split it a while ago (puppies will play :D). I was clearing out my spare room to get it ready for Chloe to whelp in. The bean bag was in a black bag in there. I forgot to put it in a cupboard last night and when I went to work this morning it didn't cross my mind. :(

Knew I should have thrown the blasted thing out, but I was going to mend it to put in my daughters bedroom (dogs not allowed in there ;) )

It's out the door now, or at least the bits I've picked up so far. :D

The hoover is now working overtime.

Lindylou, it was not directed at you, just a warning to others like I always say don't throw sticks for your dog, once you have seen a death from something you take care to pass on the warning.

I thought I'd picked up most of the beans yesterday. Came home today to find a load more on the floor :o

Chloe has started going under the settee in the bedroom. I think the bean bag must have been dragged under it, too. :p Hope I've got the worst up now.

Jackie, I didn't think it was, but thought I'd let you know it's usually kept well away from the dogs. ;)

Know just what you mean about sticks, though. Kali has been to the vets a couple of times (in her younger days :D ) when she managed to get twigs stuck across her palette(sp) Don't know how she managed it but I did walk them in wood then. Luckily the vet managed to dislodge them with tweezers, otherwise she would have had to get knocked out so they could remove them. I've never agreed with throwing sticks.
