Hi all,

Can anyone tell me at approx what age a pup starts to bark properly. Lola (Dobe 5 months) can only manage a high pitched yap. She is quite big now and I'm sure my previous Dobe barked properly a lot sooner than this. We haven't had a definite woof at all yet. She'll never frighten the paper boy at this rate :D :D.
I'm sure many of you think I should be pleased having a quiet dog and believe me I am. :)
By the way, she has stopped the peeing every where. I don't know what that was all about. It may have been insecurity as I keep having to go away at the weekends. She has the rest of the family but perhaps she misses her mum (me :D :D)

Hey there.

I think it depends on the dog. From the puppies I have had in the past they have all developed their "woof" at different stages in their lifes. When your pal is ready she will find her voice.... and you'll be wishing she was quiet again LOL ;-)
