Entered our first Dressage Test yesterday and came away with a very respectable 4th. Stupid thing is I was only going to enter the walk trot test as it was our first show then at the last minute entered for Prelim 18 even though I knew the rest of the people entered in Prelim competed at that level on a regular basis. Anyway his walk trot test was ok but he didn't score well However in the prelim he was fantastic and came a very close 4th with 70.8% He also grew about 2 foot and felt more like 18.3 not 16.3 and threw a strop at the white boards in the warm up. 6 Months ago I would of lost my nerve and got off but I just tapped him with the whip and told him to stop being a ginger plonker. I celebrated last night in the pub with a jug of pimms ;) anyone got a guaranteed cure for a hangover :)

Well done you! 16.3 would be plenty big enough for me - if the horse felt any bigger I'd need a parachute!
Hangover cure? A glass of orange juice and nice quiet, dark room...
:)
:-D :-D

Yep Sis - with the Mother of all hangovers :D That'll teach me not stick to the Chardonnay.
Just goes to show Thorougbreds are not just for racing they can tit about with the best of them ;) Must admit thought I was coming off at one stage when someone decided to put up a very large golf umbrella next to me. Massey spun round and made a halfhearted attempt at a rear, followed by another attempt even more pathetic than the first then stood and snorted at it. Even funnier (Not at the time though) was our attempt at one of the fun classes - musical bricks. Walkround in circle, when music stops find nearest brick, dismount and stand on it. He got so excited instead of trotting towards brick just cantered on the spot changing legs (know I know we had just finished our dressage tests but I think flying changes was a bit out of our league)
By the way Rosie Posies are taking over - My vet has just acquired one - I neverknew puppies could go that fast :)
Wow a vet with good taste, BT's rule OK!!! lol
Rosie Posie says it can't possibly be as bootiful as her though :-)
Bet nobody had got a camera handy, I would have loved a pic of you hanging on by your teeth.
I don't blame him though thoroughbred were never made to play party games ;-)
won't be around for a while off on our hols next week. Poor Gem has got 6 week old pups to look after for a fortnight can you just guess how pleased she is.
