In all the years Ive been doing rescue I have found The biggest expence we have is vets
When we moved here in April I was worried about changing vets as I wasnt sure I would have the same relationship and trust which I had in my other vets anyway I have to say I think we now have the best vets ever ! My first experience with them after being introduced to them was when my Dog Ned got run over and they were really great so kind with him he had had a really bad experience with the on call vet that dealt with him on the night he got hit by the car and when I took him back the vet was so heavy handed and hard with him I was shocked so I took him to the vet Im talking about now they were wonderful their patience was great they built up his confidence, and then when I lost Minnie they were wonderful .
Since then Ive been there many times and today I was sat there and an old lady came in and she was paying a small amount off her bill how many vets do that now? our vets first priority is the dog ,payment after and if you cant pay they will make an arrangement that in this day and age is wonderful and unusual.
I invited the new Vet Mandy to our open day garden party in recently never imagining she would come and she did,I was thrilled ! They offer large discounts to rescue which in turn helps us get the best possible treatment and the treatment is second to non.And all the cat rescues use them so thanks to them their nuetering shemes are possible.also one day we took a basket of pups to be vaccinated they had all messed in the basket a few of the nurses came out playing with the pups and brought clean papers and cleaned it all out fror us how many would do that I wonder?
Imagine tonight when a lady rang us to say she had hit hard times and her two labs needed vet treatment her own vet she had gone to for years had turned to her and said no money no treatment asked her if she had a credit card and when she said yes said well you will have to use that then ! also this same vet rang me a month ago to say a client of theirs had a puppy which was poorly and could we pay for the treatment and when I asked what would happen if we could not they said they would put her to sleep at six months, needless to say we paid.
So all in all My vets are wonderful and I'm happy I found them...well done "withy grove " you deserve a big pat on the back.

There are some terrible practises around Mattie but there are some also some wonderful ones. I found a young vet, only slightly older than me and fresh out of vet college very many years ago. We have both grown old but I would never change. I dont always bother him when I go to the surgery but if my dog had a major problem then I know he is going to be there for me.
Best wishes, John

Well I can only reiterate Matties comments, I help her at the rescue and they are my vets too, I kept on telling her how wonderful they were and I think she thought that it just could not be true to be able to find vets like them.
Well they are wonderful, they were really great with my old dog Ben, they could not have done more for him, and when his time came they were compassionate and caring, when I went into pay his bill they all came to see me and said how sorry they were, and how sudden and quick it was (spleen tumor), and that they all went to say goodbye to him, before he went to the crematorium.
They really do care for the animals, and you can tell, how many vets do you know that will sit on the floor with your dog, when they are not too well? or play with them when it is just a routine vaccination?.
We really do appreciate all they do both for ourselves and the rescue, anyone who lives with the Preston area, will know who we are talking about, Withy Grove, you are wonderful...........................

Sad to say i have no confidence in our vets they dont spend 2 mins talking to us they basicly throw you out the door before n you have a chance to ask a question, i really need to change them. i know plently of other people who feel the same
It dosent help since last week i saw the owner of the vets slagging his customers off in the bank.
Anyone in the notts area that knows of a good one

god mattie you are right near me, i will definitely be paying you a visit but i will of course ring first.the vets you are talking about has puppy parties on a saturday morning which my friends black lab used to love, it sounds like a great vets but mines ok too:)
Fantastic vets are worth their weight in gold...............
My only gripe about vets at some practices is that they move on all
too quickly.
Mine only keep their's seemingly for 2 years approx before they move on :(
Just got used to trusting their abilities and your own dogs/cats etc like
them and they move on...
Which is what's happen shortly to a couple that work at the vets practice I use :(
Saying that they have been fantastic with my dogs, just a shame they
are moving on.....
Guess they have to, to progress their careers etc.
