Hi I gave my 12 week old lab puppy half a Drontal tablet today,which I got from the vets. Since she got it,she has been totally hyper,following me everywhere and trying to jump up etc. She hasn't slept since 1pm today. This is out of character for her so far and I am hoping that it is just the effect of the Drontal and not something else which is causing this personality change. Has anyone else experienced this?She has been on the go all day and is agitated,even now,when she is usually settling down for the night. The vet said it might make her sick,but didnt say it could do this. Would appreciate any feedback.

Funny you should mention this - our 4 month old border terrier puppy has Drontal liquid and we have the same problem with him every time he is wormed - he seems to get a huge burst of energy which last for 24 hours or so. Our vet has told us that it is not likely to be the wormers, but it seems a bit of a coincidence!

Yes I definitely think it has something to do with the wormer. they are powerful drugs. She is back to her normal self today,sleeping and playing and not agitated,so must be more than just coincidence
