has any one got a staffordshire bull terrier from kenmillone?

Kenmillone is the affix the Kennel Club themselves use for litter registrations where the breeder has not supplied the KC with names when they registered the litter or perhaps incorrectly used another breeder's affix when naming their pups. It doesn't identify your Staffie's actual breeder I'm afraid.

Kenmillone is an affix the Kennal club used when the breeder didnt specify a name for their puppies.Gillian

so if the sire was kenmillone shadow chaser act one , were did the kenmillone come from ?sorry i dont understand ?

Well the person who bred Kenmillone Shadow chaser didnt pick a name or the name was already taken and didnt specify that they didnt want the Kennal Club to pick a name instead and so the kennal club chose the puppies name. Each year they pick adifferent word beginning with Ken

I have heard of Kenmillone Staffies . I thought it was the breeders affix . There are a couple being shown now . Well , you learn something new everyday ;)
Is that you Gemma by the way ??
Shadow chaser is the name chosen by the breeder but because they dont have an affix ( or havent registred one) then the Kennel Club gives them Kenmillone as the affix.

No Lesley the Kennal club dont automatically put there affix on its if the name is already taken and the breeders haven't said the Kennal Club cant decide.I have a rough collie without and affix ie Opera for Gypsy. Its confusing I know but there again the Kennel Club often are ;) Hope that helps
Edited for my spelling getting worse

God, now Im confused !!!! ;)
There seem to be a few Kenmillones . Is this name kept to the one breed only ?
And what if you have a nice dog with decent breeding and others are given the same forename that arent frm decent breeding -thereby associating the two dogs ?? Do you know what I mean ?

Try typing Kenmillone into google yes you get staffies but you also get various other breeds with it as an " affix"
edited again to add they only use it for one year and the next year its another word beginning with Ken

Lel,
The key is to look behind the name, a good dog is only as good as his breeding and a bad dog is only as bad as his breeding :D
If you understand that your a better woman than I am.

hey lel i have a kenmillon bon bon at hasweth stafford all the best gwen
My sprocker pups sire is a black and white working cocker KC name kenmillone bonny boy, one of our gsds at work is also a kenmillone dog
tanya
To add to the above I am convinced that some breeders deliberately apply for one word names or names that must have been used before in order to get the Ken.......... at the front of their names so that it looks like an affix. As each word is only used for one year this rather gives the game away when you look at it more closely though.
From my experience with the Breed Record Supplements (the KC's quarterly record of all pups registered with them) in my breed, I would look very closely at how many litters that breeder is producing before buying a pup from them

In addition to what Christine said about checking how many litters each breeder lists, one I recently read also had huge amounts in each litter.. 9 puppies instead of an average 4 etc..
Maybe the KC affix brings them luck also :-)

Christine
So do you recon if the bitch and sire has a proper affix but the resulting pups do not have it and you went to the breeder and asked why they should be able to tell you ?
Lucy
Hi Lucy
It may be because they don't want to pay the initial fee and the annual upkeep to get and keep one. Or perhaps they don't even know about affixes.
You could always ask and see what they answer tho'.

How much is the annual up keep ? Not that much surely ?
If I had an affix and was breeding then I would want to keep it, I suppose though it is whether you are showing or have working dogs maybe though I wouldn't have thought it would make a difference though ?
Lucy

Hi Lucy,
It costs £70 to get an affix (£50 set-up and £20 for the first year's maintenance) then £20 per year upkeep (£17 by Direct Debit).
:)
The reason the parents may both have affixes and the litter may not is that the breeder of the litter is always the official owner of the bitch and the litter will therefore have their affix (if they have one). So someone buying a bitch from a breeder with an affix and mating it to a stud dog bred by someone with an affix, can breed a litter without an affix if they don't have one of their own. The puppies get their affix from the breeder - it isn't inherited from the parents.
My understanding was that the KC will add their own Kenwhatever "affix" if the breeder has only given single word names since all KC names must be at least 2 words. But sounds like they also do it sometimes for names with more than one word.... I am sure they don't insist on all litters having an affix though - I have seen many in the BRS registered without any at all.

As i said a few days ago as a guest before i was registered,if you check your breed record supplements you will see several breeds with this begining to their name depending on what year they were born.Like i said before i have a gsd bitch with Kenmillone being the start of her name along with the rest of her litter and she was born december 2000,but perhaps the breeder didnt submit the paper work until the new year so thats why she would fall under the 2001 name.

Hi All
Despretly trying to get back in touch with MRS L FRENCH a Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeder near Birmingham. Although this is the name that is printed in the KENNEL CLUB RECORDS SUPPLEMENT, I beleive her son is the actual Breeder.
We bought an outstanding Dog pup (Kato) from this breeder last year. Unfortnatly due to a horrific accident we had to have our best friend put to sleep. Such a brave, much loved character, a friend that could never be replaced is much missed, having filled our home with much love and happiness and never ending fun he has left behind him such an empty hole in our lifes.
Not trying to replace him in any way,but we would dearly love to buy a realative of his from the same breeder.
His father was BEKANBAR BARRERE and his mother was CORAL'S LADY and he is registered under the KENMILLTRI PREFIX
If anyone could please help us in our quest we would be extreamly gratefull.
Many thanks
Julie
