Does anyone know if you can change your affix, then change the name of a registered dog that bears the affix from the breeder registration original form?
I know that you cannot change the name of a registered champion, and the water is indeed murky with the kennel club. They say that a dogs name can only be changed once during its lifetime, so lets say for example if you have CUSTARD PIE registered by the litter registration, can you then dissolve your affix and change the name to GRAVY BOAT? Answers on a post card please............ im allergic to custard!!!

of course i am assuming that they at the KC meant name change not inital reg??

As far as I know (but may be woefully out of date! :o ) the only name change that can occur is the addition of another affix when a dog's ownership is transferred. For example Bloggs Joe could become Bloggs Joe at Wherever, but couldn't have his name changed to Wherever Superdog.

The name can be changed but not just because you change you affix-I had a GSD registered years ago a bitch the box was initialled in case any of the names were not acceptable, but was ignored by the KC & they used the name Dino------I complained & they admitted their mistake-added to the fact they gave her a dogs name 7 we settled on another name

Now the rules are with the breeders consent the name can be changed-the form is on the KC site

I think the answer to your question is probably No, but it depends on whether you bred the dog or not.

If I bred a dog and you bought it and added your affix and then changed your mind I could have your affix removed but could not add another one.

If you have bought a dog and it still has its original name you can generally add an at the end providing this has not been done since the dog was first registered.

If you bred the dog and registered it with your affix you could probably then add your new affix at the end but not change the original name in any other way
