Hi Guest. Welcome to champdogs.
In an ideal world, six is too old for any dog to breed for the first time. You will need lost of help from your vet to ensure she is safe. Make sure you know EVERYTHING there is to know, or you could end up dangering your dog. Breeding any age is a hard task, breeding an old bitch, for the first time, is even harder. Good luck.

Hi,
Yes, 6 is too old for your bitch to have her first litter. There could be a lot of problems, and you may end up losing her.
There are no guarantees that your bitch will be able to whelp normally/ Be a good mother etc, at any age, but at 6 years old you are a lot more likely to have problems.
It's a difficult decision to make, but I wouldn't consider it with a 6 year old. Usually the 3rd season or 2 yrs is the best age for a first litter (I don't have Staffies so can't be certain, but that's the way with my breed)
Take care
Lisa
