Hello there
Archie (almost 7 months lab) has been easy to train so far and in fact was toilet trained in no time at all. However in the past two weeks he has weed 3 times all over the living room and kitchen floor - huge lakes of it.... On each occassion we were with him and he had access to the garden. I can't understand it. He's clean and dry overnight everynight and when we leave him during the day (about 3 hours at a time). Is this just a blip that they go through or is it testosterone kicking in? He doesn't sniff round first in a marking sort of way, just suddenly squats. I'd love to know why he's doing it - any ideas?

He may have an infection. Might be worth popping him to the vets to get him checked out.

Hi,
As someone else said, he could have an infection, or it could be hormones, he is about the right age.
What do you clean it up with, because many household cleaners contain ammonia which smells like dog pee and will encourage him to pee there again!!!

Hi there
Thanks for all your replies. Took him to the vet this am as yesterday evening he was lying on hubby's foot and peed a river whilst he was just lying there!! Vet has examined him thoroughly and we're waiting on the results of a urine analysis. The strange thing is there's no frequency, straining, blood streaks etc., and he seems really well in himself. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks again.

Could be a 'plumbing' error.

ooer Jackie - I do hope not!!!! No, the vet says the urine test shows he has an infection so will treat him with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and re check his urine in a week. Hopefully it won't re occur otherwise it might well be the plumbing..... At the moment I'm just glad to have an explanation for his behaviour. I had a feeling he wasn't just being 'naughty'.
Will keep you posted under the Health heading if there's anything else to report.
