I have a dog aged 5 and a bitch aged 3 - the bitch constantly yaps when we take the dogs out, whether to the beach or vet, she starts when I put on my trainers! Is there any way we can stop this? Any help would be appreciated, we have tried smacking, ignoring, muzzling etc etc but nothing works. We realise this is just excitement but it is very annoying to us and others when on the beach etc. We thought just going to somewhere she knows caused it but even in the vet's waiting room she starts and just will not be quietened. Can anyone help please?
