as most of you read, amber lost her litter on the 42nd day, she is okay, very down inthe dumps, but today has taken a small teddy from my sons room and is walking round with it in her mouth, and taking it to her bed, obviously this is a pup substitute, but should i let her or take it from her? not sure if i need to be cruel to be kind

Awh bless her. If your son doesn't mind let her keep it it's a way of her coping with the loss of her litter

Hi,
It sounds harsh, but if you let her do this the symptoms will last longer. :( The best thing for her in the long run is to stop her doing this. Don't leave her alone if you can avoid it. Take her out and about as much as possible so she doesn't have time to brood. Keep her busy.

Poor girl, she's been through such a lot and her hormones will be all over the place.
