Went to visit a littler of pups - labs, mother has excellent predigree but no hip score or eye test, as she fell pregnant not at all planned also before she was twelve months old and hence owners tell me they can not KC register. The sire was not a stud dog (so all a big accident) and therefore also has no hip/eye scores, etc. Mother was looking really well. But I have doubts!! Is what was said about the KC registing correct? Our last lab came to us with no background info - rescued. Any advice would be good, unfortunately no very trusting.

Hi

I think i am correct in saying that bitches that have litters before 12 months of age or of 12 months of age , none of the pups that are born can be registered.

Sounds like an accident that was done on purpose to me

However good luck whatever you decide to do.

HELEN :)

Hi there,

Accident or not unfortunately is not really worth the risk to new owners in my honest opinion.

I would look for a reputable breeder who has or soon will have puppies from tested KC parents.

It is really not worth the risk. You may have been lucky with your first one but may not be with a second one.

Good Luck

Pam
