Poor wee Morse was crying in his basket last 2 nights and when I went to check, his off hind was tight and drawn up - this is the leg he limped on after a tumble downhill. I rubbed it and stretched it out with him trying hard not to bite, and he's right as a trivet now, but how do I prevent him getting post exercise cramps?

Poor Morse - does he get this often? If he is over doing it then lead walking may be the only option for a few days to remedy. Sometimes I have to restrict Blaze by putting him back on the lead when he is particularly energetic - seems cruel though I know - hate it myself when he can't run free. Interested to find if anyone has any helpful advice about preventing cramp.

Hi Nikki its been twice in 2 days, but nothing before this thankfully. We've cut down his exercise using Johns magic formula of 3 mins per month of age per walk, and uppped the training to work his grey cells. This morning he hasnt been off lead at all as its hissing down. An energetic Blaze on the lead must be like doing a speed weight training class!

Spoke to Joe's owner today (Joe is a retired racing greyhound) who told me Quinnine tablets were given to racers prone to cramp, and shes trying to remember the name of the spray they used before exercise.:)
