Emmy is my year old Lab. She's very submissive in nature and very very friendly! Lately when I give her a bone or a chew stick, she will run off to her spot in the garden where she likes to munch things, then come running back to me and drop it on my lap! She dances around then with her tail wagging until I give it back to her. This will go on 5 or 6 times until eventually she runs back to her favourite spot to finish her treat off properly. I just wondered if any one elses dog does the same, it really makes me laugh (except when it's a gooey bone that gets all over my clothes!) Is she trying to share it with me? It really is a funny quirk!

How cute. Emma obviously enjoys getting her bone as much as she does chewing it :-)

Hi Joules, yes my lot do it only I give them marrow bones :) Now I won`t play that game any more(aren`t I a meany:) ) so they walk around me & rub up against my legs instead! I look a sight at times, especially when the bones are big & I`m doing my best to make sure they don`t drop em on my toes!!!! My young male, 2+yrs still sometimes try`s to lay on my feet & chew his :) :) They don`t seem to understand no matter how many times I tell them I really don`t want to share their bones thank you very much!! :)

My Bedlington does this too :D and loves to chew a bone which is on our laps or legs :) also likes to lie on my feet and chew a bone :) - I think its very trusting as a bone is a highly prized item and I might just want it back !! (not likely!! :D :D ) the only things which are taken away to eat are tripe sticks - far too tasty to share (thank goodness)

Yup my 3 year old lab loves to share her treats with us. At first we thought that she wanted to play tug which we don't do so she would just lay the bone very carefully on our knees and sit there waiting. We eventually twigged that she was displaying the ultimate in love. Now we give it back to her over and over and she seems very satisfied with that and will eventually go and enjoy it in peace. She will stop the game quicker if we pretend to have a chew and pass it to each other a few times but I draw the line at really slimy offerings:D :D.
