Hi, is anyone showing this weekend? I'm at an open show at Woodgreen animal shelter in Huntingdon.
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 19.09.03 08:31 UTC
Yes so am I, and heaven help me Grimsby on Sunday.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 19.09.03 08:41 UTC
Yes, we're at Woodgreen tomorrow as well! Can't remember whether we're in Aussie classes or AVNSC (haven't got the schedule with me here at work!)

What are you showing?

Margot

Looks like it's AV Pastoral for you. (Margot)

IGNORE THAT (wrong schedule) if it is A. Shepherds you have classes if A. Heelers or Cattle, Silky Terrier you haven't.

Margot,
I'm showing my young beagle.
- By filbert [gb] Date 19.09.03 09:21 UTC
Jackie - what show is on at grimsby on sunday???
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 19.09.03 09:24 UTC
Belive it or not Cleethorpes - we don't have classes but we do have a breed judge - so I have entered to suport the judge.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 19.09.03 09:26 UTC
I'll look out for a beagle-baby - and we're showing Aussie shepherds (the noisy, busy ones!)
- By sarahl [fr] Date 19.09.03 09:41 UTC
I can't think what an Aussie sheperd looks like, but I'll be looking out for them (ie nosiy and busy!!)

Oh Jackie if only we'd known you were going to be at Cleethorpes, I'm sure we'd have come :D :D :D

(Actually - it's a bit far from Essex!)

Margot

Jackie - Dozy cow that I am - didn't register the bit about Woodgreen - somehow put Grimsby & Cleethorpes together - sorry :( - well look out for your elkhounds. Don't think we're in the ring until after 10.30 - so can have a bit of a lie-in & leave at 8 - hooray!!!

Only taking Solli Sod and you can't miss him he will be the only one in the AV Hound Open class behaving like he should be in Minor Puppy.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 21.09.03 21:52 UTC
Well I was showing by Proxy at Lichfield, where the owner that our young lad lives with showed him to BOB, and to the BIS shortlist (show not on the Group system). Am most pleased as this gives him his final point for his Show Cetificate of Merit. So he will now be Camalot's Faithful Knight JW ShCM (Imp).

This new award can be gained by getting BOB/BNSC at Open shows. At least five points must be won in Group wins. You get one point for BOB, 4, 3, 2, 1, for the Group places, and 5 for a BIS win. 25 Points are needed to get the award. His points included a BIS and Four Group places.

Hi, well it is the GB (Parent) Club American Cocker Show tomorrow at the Midalnds Sports Centre, near Coventry. So I guess most American Cocker exhibitors will be there. Anyone from the Midlands know what is going on in the area this weekend, it was an absolute nightmare to find hotel rooms, ended up having to book us in to the Holiday Inn just outside of Rugby! So anyone wanting to see over 100 Yankees in one place please come along. I will be behind the breed rescue stand most of the day, having spent the last 2 weeke painting, glueing, glittering, sewing and printing all the stuff to sell.

Good luuck to everyone showing in Grimsby etc.
bye
Gwen

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took The Sod for a walk in the field before taking him to above mentioned show and he decided to roll in the ash from the grass fire. Now several hours latter I have managed to remove most of the ash but he has a green grass stain just above the eye and I dare not use the sprit cleaner I would normally use.

Had to forget todays show but want to take him to the show tomorrow and would rather take him without the green forehead. Can anyone make a suggestion, it is too late to buy anything special to deal with it and I can't bath it would ruin the coat texture. HELP - HELP - HELP - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 20.09.03 16:57 UTC
Jackie - for a start try baby wipes - it's amazing what you can remove with one of these! (even use them to shine my shoes if they're all dusty when I get to work:)). Other than that, would suggest that you dissolve a tiny amount of biological washing powder, then dip face flannel/cloth in it & rub (obviously, I'd keep something else over his eye whilst doing it!

Did look for you today - know now why we didn't see you - didn't see the beagles either!!

Vinnie took 1st in Aussie puppy, to Beau's 2nd (but they were the only two puppies :(). Loki got 5th in Post grad, in a class of 8, so we weren't unhappy with that! Vinnie got chucked in pastoral puppy though!!! STill, she's got a very fetching lila 7 lavender rosette!

Hope that the baby wipes work!

No baby, no baby wipes, but after your tip I think I will get some. Have tried with a makeup removal pad and that seemed to work OK. Well nearly, may start a fashion for two tone Elkhounds.
- By sarahl [fr] Date 22.09.03 07:33 UTC
Hi - we were there with the beagle, although yet again, only a total of 7 beagles turned up! However we did get RBOB with Willow, so pleased that's she's improving. I don't know why a lot of people don't bother with open shows - it's very frustrating. Will look out for you at future shows.

- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 22.09.03 10:25 UTC
Isn't it frustrating when you get there & there's not a very good turnout! I think that beagles must have been finished by the time we arrived - we did look for you!
