Mine used to do this too, was funny to start with then got very annoying, but he grew out of it. He is 7 months now :)

My poodles tend to dive in the water bowl too! I use a very large heavy china one and make sure it is always full. I have it standing on a plastic tray to catch the splashes!

You need one of the metal stands which holds a stainless steel bowl that lifts it off the floor. As you have what will be a large dog it is better for them to eat at that level too. I know Luxway's do them mail order, not sure if you can get them from a pet shop.

i know someone who's lab pup used to do this, try distracting it to do something more interesting, also there are stainless steel bowls you can buy (couple of pounds from wilko's) which can not be tipped up they have sloping sides, hard to explain really, hope this helps :)

hi my lab pup always did this so we bought a very heavy plastic bowl, one with slopping sides so that there was no way for her to pick it up it stopped her from picking it up and walking round the garden with it, but now at the age of almost three she still paddles in her water bowl and even dips her toys in it but at least the bowl stays where i put it.

haha mine does that all the time, shes a right cheeky devil though she will tip the bowl upside down after she will bring it to me and throw it at my feet.

We have a 8 month golden retriever and he plunges his nose in the water and then dribbles everywhere. But take him to the beach or a like and he might put a paw in but then comes a wave and he runs in the opposite direction.
