i left my dog with a bitch on their own for about 2 hours, the bitch is in season, how can you tell if they have mated or not as my cousion's female lahsa apso was brought around to my house again and they dont seem intersested does this mean they have mated? if not can you give me a few tips on how we could help them a long!!!!! thank you

Unless you supervise a mating you will have no idea whether or not it has taken place! You need to witness the tie, and unless both dog and bitch are experienced they are likely to need assistance. At what stage in her season is the bitch? How old is she - and the dog? Have either of them mated before?

Sorry Mrs Wilson, but are you really telling us you left a dog in a room alone with an in season bitch. Why on earth would you do that? Did you not know the bitch was in season. Sorry I can't answer your question and I am at a loss to understand what it is you think you doing.

Have re-read your post and it would seem you did it deliberately, if so it is possible that one or the other has been hurt and they are not going to try again. Mating dog is a lot more complicated than shutting 2 dogs together and hoping for the best. You need to do a lot of research into both dogs then you will need to find someone who is used to matting dogs to come and help you, or you are risking damaging the dogs. What day of the season was the bitch on, had you had a premate test
