when i eventually get my parson russell terrier i hope to show where do i start

Look for a local Ringcraft Class, (vets, pet food shops, the Kennel Club or people on here) and take your puppy as soon as it can go out after it's jabs. To be honest I take mine after the first one and keep it on my knee, don't let any dog sniff or touch it, but I am not telling you to do that but it is what I do.

When you go to the ring craft class they will tell you how to show your dog and answer all the other questions you have about showing. Well that is how I did it. Also tell your breeder that you want to show and ask if they can help you. Good luck, enjoy.

In addition to what Jackie has said, subscribe to one of the weekly dog papers. they are Dog World and Our dogs. They have slightly different styles and feature writers are diferent, but they all have show results, judges reports, and Breed notes for each breed, and all the shows are advertised in them. that is all the Open and Championship events, and a lot of the Companion shows also.

I would advise asking your Newagent to order both for you for a month, and then just cancel the one you don't enjoy as much.
