You seem to want a lot of differents breeds don't you? 1st you wanted a golden retriever, then a novia scotia toller also in that post you said you didn't want an italian spinone because they are too big, now you do want a italian spinone (lol) i cant keep up with you! :)

I can kinda see ur point there are a lot of dogs I wanted, of course in the future. I went from doing research on the Bordeaux then the Great dane and then the Alapaha Blue Blood. Now after doing all the research I still don't know what all there is to know about all these breeds, but I did come to one conclusion I believe the Bordeaux is for us. We have done a lot on the Mastiff so my hubby will get the Mastiff and I'm going to get the Bordeaux, but still have a lot more work to do on these two breeds now so we know all there is to know about them. We want both males so hoping that these two bully's can get along.....I have a long time to worry about that since I have 5 dogs I'm in no rush.....

Its hard to find the right breed but make sure the breed fits into ur lifestyle and not you trying to fit them into yours.

Good luck :)

Hi dollface, I've heard about Tiva and Tbone but what breed are they? And what other dogs do you have?
- By dollface Date 17.09.03 01:26 UTC
Lorelei,
Junior, Tiva, T-bone and Dozer are all Boston Terriers the large weight not more then 25 pounds. I also have a hybrid (wolf/rott) Taz who is 9 1/2 years old and weighs 158 pounds.

ttfn :)

lol i know i want them all, i just keep going off and onto breeds and cant make up my mind on which to choose, the reason i just brought up the spinone is because i have a chance to rehome one, and wanted some more info. too many beautiful dogs, to pick from!

Spinone are stubborn, slobbery creatures. If you don't mind smelly beards and wiping slobber off your ceilings, walls and cupboards on a regular basis, then they could be the dog for you. They are easy to train if you know what you are doing and they are very gentle dogs. They are prone to bloat. You do not say why the dog you have been offered is up for rehoming? Does it have a problem?

It would be good if you could give us some more info on the Spin in need of rehoming, as that will have a bearing on the advice we can give you as you try to decide if its right for you and your circumstances.

Admin is right to say that they are slobbery, and some more so than others, and also that they can be stubborn. The stubborness tends to kick in once you have finished training them relatively easily, with fair and consistent instruction! Spins are very good at the quick Cost/Benefit Analysis and if it decides its worth doing, it'll do it! It goes hand in hand with selective deafness! They are also a sensitive breed and they enjoy, nay, crave, human company!!!

Also, you have to be extremely rigourous in maintaining the hygiene of the beard, admin mentioned the beard can be smelly, and yes it will be if it is not kept clean. Attention must also be paid to the ears.

As admin mentioned, they can suffer from bloat, and you will need to a) ensure that you read up on it and do as much as you can to follow current advice on minimising the risks of it occuring and b) read up on the symptoms so that you will recognise it and be able to act fast if the symptoms develop

I'm biased and think that Spins are the best breed of dog on the face of the earth! But they are not for everyone by any stretch of the imagination and I know that some of the traits in my Spins that I find delightful and endearing would drive some people absolutely bonkers.
