I'm not an expert on this breed so excuse the spelling if it's not right. I just started a job and had to go to an area near me. Along the way I came across 2 young lads one had what he said was a cross APBT and the other a sharpei. Both dogs were off the leads and when I started talking to them the owner of xAPBT took great delight in telling me how it had killed one dog. (the dog was not on a lead) The owner of the sharpei? was the one that made me want to cry. I understand they do have eye problems but this one had thick yellow discharge running from his eyes. Also his front feet looked completely deformed I think this was caused by the fact that his nails were at least an inch long so long they were curling round in a circle. Feeling brave I'm female & not very big! I asked about his eyes to which he replied he doesn't want him to have an op as he's 6 and these dogs only live til they are 8. He didn't seem to happy by my questioning him so I had to leave it at that. I am going to keep my eye out to see if I can find out where he lives & I will report him. I just can't get those sad little eyes out of my head.
