Topic Dog Boards / General / companion for oscar?
- By Snoop Date 15.09.03 15:52 UTC
Hi everyone.

I'm new to this site but i just love it!
I have got a one year old english springer called Oscar(gorgeous!). He has mild hip dysplasia so we have to limit his exercise until he is older.
I'd like a companion for him. Any ideas on a suitable companion(breed/sex) or is it too soon? What is the best age to introduce a second dog?

Also have 4 children to consider.
Thanks, Rachel

Hi Rachel, if you search for 2 Dogs or not 2 Dogs youll see how we resolved our dilemna and useful input from experienced people. How old are your children? We also have 4 aged from almost 6, 9 on Wednesday, 12 in December ( if she mends her wicked ways) and 15 and our Morse is 11 months old.:)

Thanks Lorelei, I found it!
Think I'll leave it for now.It seems too risky!

My children are 10, 7, 4 and nearly 2, quite a handful!

good idea to leave it...on the basis of his hips. likely he would run and play uncontollably with a new pal, and overdo it.
