I was at Darlington show today, and saw a class of lovely dogs but have no idea what breed they were. They looked very like German Shepherds, but were fawn all over with a black muzzle and black ears. What sort of breed is this??

Sounds like Tervueren (Belgian Shepherd Dogs)

Or if short coated then it would me the Malinois variety of Belgian Shepherd. they also come in rough coated (Lakenois) or my favourite the black "Groenenendael" :D

Taz wasn't placed in her first class but she did absolutely brilliantly - behaved like a complete star and oozed charisma. I didn't see her second class so don't know how that went. My breeder said she was a fab dog and should have been placed, but there you go!

Yep, just checked on my dog breed info site and it's the Malinois. I forgot to mention they had a short coat.

Jo - you should have come over to the Aussie ring - I was there!! (We got a 3rd with Beau in Puppy Dog & 4th with both Vinnie in Puppy Bitch & Loki in Post Grad!

It's a loively venue and a lovely day with good weather - took us 5 hours to get there (including a couple of stops) and 5 hrs to get back - but really wasn't a hassle - parked right up at the front (another of the advantages of driving through the middle of the night)!

Still debating as to wether we'll do W & P in Scotland at the beginning of November.....
