I am interested in importing a Lab puppy. I am looking for a blood line of hunting rather than trails. I want the dog as a pet as well as a waterfowl and upland hunter. Language problem, Jackie. In the US hunting means shooting, not what we call hunting. The reference to 'trails' has me foxed, though - perhaps field trials as opposed to 'real' working?

In America I dont think there is much organised shooting as seen over here. Most shooting is a solitary thing, one or two people with their dogs not like a driven shoot with say 10 guns, a dozen beaters and 3 or 4 picking up. You have to go out and hunt for the birds!

If you want to import a dog guest then obviously you will not want to import rubbish! Have a search on something like Google for names such as Drakeshead, Willowych, Craigthorne or Birdbrook. There are so many good dogs it's impossible to list them all.
