Topic Dog Boards / Health / Should I Be worried? :*(

This mornining when I went to pick up the morning poo of my dogs Taz looked weird. I noticed a white bunch of string in his poo the kind with the elastic in the middle. At first I thought worms but at more of a look I noticed it was string all white with elastic in the middle of it. His poo's are pretty big 158lbs dog and all was string except for the case of poo that was around it. The only thing that comes to mind is that he dug into my garbage which is in my back porch (usually the door is shut unless hubby is working in the yard) and ate the nettting that comes off a roast, but that was like tuesday wednesday and today is friday, not sure when he would of ate it. How long do you think it would take to travel through him? I have checked every poo since from him and all has been normal no more signs of foreign meterial or object just all poo. Should I still be worried about him or do you think all is well? He is still his normal happy self, eating and drinking normal as well.

ttfn :)

Hi

One of mine did the same a few weeks ago , and came out of it unscathed , if your dog had not passed it , or passed anything at all then i would be worried.

So i think all may be fine , so try not to worry too much.

HELEN.

My working cocker always amazes me by the weird and interesting things that appear in his poos. Don't worry too much, you only need to worry if you had seen him eat all the net from around the meat and it hadn't come out the other end. Dogs are quite effective at passing foreign bodies from their systems within a day, 2 maximum, I would safely assume that the initial deposit was all of it but if he he goes off his food or can't go to the toilet then I would worry. The most disgusting thing that Bilbo managed to pass was a panty liner, totally undigested and hardly chewed at all.
