Hiya
My sheltie pup's ears are starting to stick up, I wouldn't mind but I'd like to do some showing with her and they have to be down don't they. So I have been recommended Copydex, is there anything else anyone recommends?

Yes - leave them alone.

I am not sure how old your pup is but if she is teething then it is quite common for ears to go all over the place.

The best person to talk to about this is her breeder. Sheltie ears should stand up but tip over at the top. Often you need to weigh down the tops, but until they finish teething you really won't know which way they will go.

The breeder was putting glycerol and talc on them, it worked for a while, but seems to have stopped working now. She's nearly 11 weeks, she's the first pup we've had as our other two are rescues, what age do they stop teething?

They generally finish changing from baby to adult teeth at about 5 or 6 months, but then those need to settle properly in the jaw.

Hiya
Thanks I thought it was something like that as my x-breed rescue lost one of her baby teeth at 6 months.

I would talk to ur breeder before the cartlidge in the ear hardens up. There was a lady at my dog class (well she was in the puppy class) and they told her to do it while the cartlidge was still soft so then it will form that way (kinda like glueing it down so it will flop at the top, can't remember what she used). rather then that they told her the ears would stand straight up, like my boston's :)

ttfn :)
