Hey all i have a 10 week old Alsation puppy called Cleo, who when fed immediatly sicks it up and then eats it up again. My first question is, when the she eats her sick, will it do any harm to her?And my second question would be, How can i stop her from doing this, if it is possible to stop her!
Im quite worried as this is my first puppy and i haven't been able to find any infomation on this lol!
Id be grateful for any information as i am stumped lol!
Thanx ...... CleosMum

Hey everyone, thank you for your helpful comments! I have fed Cleo today and she hasnt brought it back up, and she has eaten it all today. Even so i have booked her in today at the vets for a check over and some jabs! (Dont think she will like me much after that) hehehe!
She has also been burping so that must be a good sign!!!!
Thank you again for your help

My pup did exactly the same thing at about the same age. I asked his breeder about it. She said that he had probably eaten his food too fast. He had not yet learnt to belch, and so regurgitated the food and ate it more slowly a second time. Soon after that, he learnt to either eat more slowly or belch, and he hasn't done it since.
The one other time he brought his dinner up again was after he had eaten a fair amount of soil. I didn't let him eat that again :)

is cleo one of those dogs that has a mouth like a hoover? LOL, like sarah said she's probaly eating too quickly.
try giving smaller portions spread out over the day. It wont do her any harm eating her sick even tho it is gross to watch.
good luck
