Ive decided to let my cocker get professionly groomed again ,i just dont have time in the next two weeks to do it myself.
The thing is the past two times ive taken her to pro groomers shes come back nearly bald!when we asked her to come back looking like a cocker, I was put off getting her cut again. how do i find a groomer that knows how to groom cockers?
I could shave her fur off like they do in 10 mins, but i want her looking like a proper cocker.
Or do all pro groomers shear the dogs??

Unfortunately in a grooming salon time is money so mostly they clip as its quicker. Why not contact your dogs breeder and ask if they can help or if they know of someone in your area who would do the job properly, like a local cocker breeder. You are paying and you deserve to have the dog groomed as you want it.
Sadly some pro groomers don't have the faintest idea of how the various breeds should look or how to acheive the trim/strip, I've seen many interesting looking attempts locally and they are all coming from the same groomer who doesn't appear to know any of the various terriers from poodles or cockers

When you 'phone for an appointment ask if they will do a show trim - it will probably cost more though, as it will take longer. By the way - where do you live?

You should have a Spanish Water Dogs. The groomers are usually disgusted when they realise that they are not to be puffed up like a Poodle and that they should be clipped all off.

We were asked to take our dogs to a grooming exhibition once and they were well put out when we arrived there and told them how they should be done. They thought that they'd be able to brush, comb, backcomb etc. our dogs!!! :d NO WAY.

I have just had a quick look in the breeders section and there a few in Notts area - why don't you try e-mailing them and ask if they groom or can recommend someone.

Ask if they trim to the breed standard. Unfortunately, many groomers have just bought a pair of clippers and put an advert in the local paper. They wouldn't even know what the breed standard was!! There is no reason, why any cocker cannot be improved with knowledgeble trimming.
Have you seen a dog with a good trim while out walking? Recommendation is always a good place to start.
Good luck.
