tessa our labrador is once again in season, and as her previous litter is now 22mths we decided to breed her again before having her spayed. after a long search trying to find a stud i decided to use baloo our search and rescue trainee at work, tess and baloo had met a few times before she came in to season, he would always give her a toy and try to get her to play.
On tesses tenth day i took baloo on a detour when we were out on his exercise, he thought tess was great, the garden and the goats were all interesting but tess wasnt ready so he went back to his kennel, today tesses eleventh day i took her to work with me for a quick rendavouz (sp?) with baloo she decided it would be a good idea to play dead under the water bowl :) , so home tess went with baloo in tow so he could have his walk, i let him have a quick run in the garden with tess and joy she decided that maybe baloo was her suitor but only if i wasnt there, as mum had to pick my youngest sister up from school i couldnt leave baloo at home so took him back to work, but we decided that he would come home with me this evening and stay the night. once baloo was in the jeep ready to go back to work both him and tess were crying (ahhhhhhhhhh).
we got home this evening about 4.30 and the dogs think its great, that is baloo and jack!! tess gets upset that baloo is playing with jack but snaps if he comes near, so baloo is now satisfying himself with jack our 8 mth pup and toby our 6 year old cav as they smell of tess. It seems as if tess is laughing at his antics though as she let him carry on for a bit then shares her scent with baloo before deciding that no she doesnt want to let him after all so he has to go back to the boys, much to their disgust, tobys anyway, jack is enjoying the attention ;)
