On Friday SB and I are off overnight to a wedding, leaving the tribe with granny. Kids will be fine and Gothboy is in charge of Morse. Left instructions, vets number etc but I am worried, as my Mum is not used to living with dogs although she likes Morse. What if they let him jump up on her or she goes out to the bin and he wont let her back in? Will he miss us and be upset, or just run riot while the gaffer is out? We're going to take him out before we leave at lunch time so it's only 12 hours, and I know I should be enjoying the thought of time to ourselves, but I worry.

Ummmm... Mum brought up you didn't she ;). Not sure theres anything a puppy could do that would overshadow what my 3 kids did as they grew up... and now they are teenagers its worse ;).

Worry not and enjoy.... and look forward to your kids worrying that you can cope later in life.

Regards Dave

Do you leave Morse alone during the day at any time? eg Do you leave him to go shopping, take kids to school, etc. How does he behave then? If he is left with instructions that Granny is the boss (the kids need to know this :D ) he should be ok. If Morse doesn't let Granny back in the kids will, won't they?
Enjoy yourself, try not to worry too much. They'll be fine. We all worry about things that we really don't need to, in hindsight.

We left Buster with my mum and three kids when he was six months old, this was overnight, she's not used to dogs either, gave oldest [13] the responsibility of the dog ... when we got home, dog was too exhausted/bloated to move - Mum/kids had fed him enough treats in 24 hours that he would have had in a fortnight - plus he'd dived onto the settee and eaten Mum's prawn sandwich - so no harm done!

Worry not about morse it sounds like she might have more of a handful with the kids...maybe you'll find you come back to the fact Granny and Morse have locked the KIDS out!

Methinks you might be right there Sooz :D

:D:D thanks Sooz I can just see the 2 of them sitting with a coffee and biscuit while the kids peer in the window! Granny never has trouble controlling the kids as she has her own version of a Very Hard Stare which reduces them all to jelly.
