Hi all,
Have recently been reading about T-touch (one of Linda T-J's books) and am wondering how effective you have found it? I'm quite tactile and give our pup a lot of rubs and stroking anyway, the sceptic in me was thinking that the book was teaching people basically how to pet their dogs but I'm open to the experience of wiser souls! Has anyone here actually found that T-touch has influenced their dogs behaviour dramatically?
Just wondering as our pup has been getting v excited (I think over stressed) in class situations recently. There are a few t-touches for overexcited or stressed dogs. Presume you should give the dog the massage while in the situation.

I used TTouch on Missy for the first time about 18 months ago, I'd had her for about 4 months at the time, and when I'd finished she moved away for me, and for the first time since I'd had her did what we call a 'wiggle and a squiggle' - you know the daft wriggly thing they do lying on their backs making funny growly noises..........

hi
I haven't heard of it before, is there anywhere i can look it up, or do I buy the book?

Try this
linkYes it does work by releasing the body's ntaural endorphins
I was surprised to see how much the one and a quarter circles in one of the techniques seemed to calm animals (from watching the TV prog.) But then if they do release the natural endorphins maybe i shouldn't be surprised ;)
I too intend to find out more about TTouch - i know a practitioner, but she is miles away; although there are seminars to attend.

courses available all over the country http://www.pawsnlearn.freeserve.co.uk/equ.htm
That's the site of the lady i know who does it :) - one of the few practitioners in the country i believe.
I believe the TV series has just finished, it was on Sundays at about 3pm in the Meridian region. It showed Sarah Fisher treating mainly dogs but also reptiles, birds, and some lovely horses, goats and pot belly pigs!
Some of the animals were due to be pts because of behavioural problems, but were helped by her methods. Not all were saved, a lovely horse had a hip problem and was unable to be helped so was pts :(
Hopefully, they will repeat the programme sometime.

Thankyou all.
I've been giving it a go following the book , but useful to know there are courses too. My pup just likes any attention I think. It does calm him at home when he's having a tearaway five minutes. We'll see what he's like if I try it in actual potentially stressful situations.
Sorry I missed the Tv prog, not on in my area that i could find.
