We are a retired couple buying our first puppy since losing our girl after 12 wonderful years. we found our ideal pup, paid the deposit and now its the time to collect him. the breeder has informed us the k.c paperwork has been applied for but not yet arrived. do we take the pup without it?
breeder has offered to give us a written statement to confirm papers will be sent to us asap but is this good enough?
we are keen to collect him today as planned.

As long as you have it in writing that KC registration has been applied for and wil be forwarded asap, all should be well. I have sold pups like this, because sometimes the paperwork takes a while to come through.

Hi there get it down in writing that the puppy will be KC reg.
It took the KC 5 days to do my last litter of 10 so cant see why its taken so long??
Posted the form off on Monday and was back on Friday so there should be no excuse.
You can ring the KC if you have your puppies details and check if they have recived a form to reg the litter but you muct know the KC names of the parents esp the Dam ( mother)

Hi Guest, and Kennelsitter. If you have it in writing you should be OK. Kennelsitter, please remember that while the KC are now progressing registrations quickly compared to the old system, hiccups do occur. I am currently waiting for a registration which has been back and forth to the KC several times over a period of 5 months now! Mistakes on the paperwork, bits left off, etc can all delay the process. And sometimes breeders just take a little bit longer to think of the names, or decide which, if any, pups should be endorsed.

Yes I know things can go wrong at the KC at most Champ shows now you can get things sorted out there and then like I did at Crufts this year.l
Reg my litter and transferd over a bitch too and took home all my new reg forms.

Make sure the paperwork says KC and NOT DL registration !

you can ask for the parents kC registration numbers, this is what I write down for the new owners if I haven't had the KC documents
