Advice please:
3.45 this morning I was woken by my 10 week retriever Pup barking, at the same time my 8 year old GSD barked a few times but I thought it was at a cat or something (which isn't unusual). It certainly wasn't her normal bark to ask to go outside. I ignored them both but about 10 mins later the GSD (Asha) came up stairs and started whinging at the bedroom door so I tought she must want to go out. I went down stairs and to my horror from one end of the dining room right through the loung was diarioha (SP), I was half expecting the puppy tp have messed but that would have been in the kitchen on paper!!. She was so upset that I couldn't get her into the lounge and through to the kitchen to the back door. She has never ever messed in the house. I took her another way out and then set to clean up, which took me well over 30 mins! (New carpet and rugs aswell, typical) She obviously went again in the garden but it was pitch black so I never investigated.
This morning I followed her round the garden and there is blood in her diarioha. There was none in the mess she had done on the carpet earlier. She was fine yesterday and I know she was solid as I picked it up. She has had nothing from me to eat differently and isn't the sought of dog that will go forraging and eat anything that she finds. She has never done this. She is booked into the Vets at 3.00pm today but can anyone ease my mind if they have had this problem?

Sorry I meant to ask should I be worried about the puppy and keep them apart untill I have seen the vet?> Although they have been together most of the morning!

GSD's sometimes have an upset stomach & really bad D. I used to have 10 GSD's & at one time or another they all had it. It usually lasted a day & starvation & lots of boiled water with electrolyte in it for 24 hours then a lite diet seemed to cure it. Oddly enough they were their usually selves even though they had this problem

Hi, thanks for asking, she has some kind of infection, she has had 2 injections and has some tablets and has to eatthings like chicken and rice or white fish and rice. I have to keep an eye on her untill Friday and if she still has any sign of blood or loose motions then I have to take her back.
She still has loose motions and a small amount of blood this morning but she seems alot happier in herself (the eyes aren't so sad and droopy!!) so hopefully the anti-biotics have started to kick in.
I am glad to here your GSD is improving.
