Is the phalene just a papillion with dropped ears or is it a different breed and if so can phalene be shown. Im not intrested in owning either dog im just curious over the two breeds.

In the UK they are the same breed

Yes it is a papillon with dropped ears and yes they can be shown but unless you are one of the top breeders they don't usually do very well, but they are very pretty nontheless.

Hi Ace.
Phalenes would do just as well but there are not that many of them, and they are generally not the quality of the Papillon. "Phalene" means moth as opposed to Papillon meaning butterfly. Sitting on the chair next to me I have the bitch that produced this country's first female Phalene champion, she is a Papillon.

Hi Dawn, yes i know what phalene means and maybe there arent many about but i still say that most of the time unless they are being shown by a "face" they do not do that well which is a shame .
