My 7 month old cocker has a 'Beckham'.......... "WHAT???" i hear you cry...well he has a white sprig of hair that runs down his head that just stands on end, i mean straight up a good 2 inches from his head is a full on mohican! Whilst he looks like the cutest thing i've ever seen, i'm thinking that if i ever wanted to do a bit of showing with him, would that go against him? you see all these Cockers with sleeked down hair lookinig all demure.................I have tried everything to get it to lay flat to no avail. As he is still a baby he still has his full bear suit(not been stripped or clipped!) and i don't want to think that he would have to have it cut!!!!
Any advise

I'm afraid the only way i know to remedy the mohican look is to strip it out, and it needs to be done sooner rather than later. I used to show my golden cocker spaniel, and had to spend hours trimming and stripping her out as she had a very thick coat like an american cocker, most unusual in a golden i was told. I found the best way to strip her top knot was to buy rubber finger cotts from boots (they come in a little tub of 10), put one on your thumb and the finger next to it, then take very very small sections of the hair and give it a sharp pull. If he's got a big mohican don't do it all in one sitting, its too much for them and especially for a pup!
Hope this helps!
